On Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Wing DC, Black Girl 44 awarded three $1,500 scholarships to students who have earned an internship in DC this fall. Each winner was in attendance as well as the 3 runners-up. During the luncheon, anonymous donors stepped up and gave $1,100 scholarships to each runner-up. Following lunch, members from Wing DC joined Black Girl 44 for a panel titled, “The Power of Internships and Sisterhood” highlighting the importance of women uplifting the next generation, applying for and making the most out of internships, and owning your confidence and work ethic. Black Girl 44 would like to thank everyone for their contribution at making this inaugural initiative a success. We were able to award a total of $7,800 to support black women changing the world.
